I tear myself apart with the regret of not uploading this earlier. Hopefully i am not too late, uploading my new video onto the internet weeks later. This video is of an open mic hosted by the Green Earth Poets Cafe.

There are so many people in the footage who are not given their credit. If u recognize anyone please leave a comment and how I can link them to their poems.
I’m raising my hand because I don’t understand. Please teacher I have a question.
You know whatever I have to say will tear away the fabric that you try to mask over our eyes.
You don’t want to call on me I know
but everyone else is silent.
Everyone else is waiting for your instruction, hopelessly.
Wishing, hoping you’ll just give them the answer and feed them whatever version of the truth you can muster up!
I see through this ohhhh I see through this.
With a college education I am armed with knowledge so I can stand up for myself.
I know for one that I have the freedom of speech and can assemble anywhere to converse with like minded people.
So Teach, if you don’t call on me its cool cuz I can start a club after school.
We have a right to protect ourselves people.
And we should do so by arming ourselves with information.
Build a militia around knowing our rights and protecting our youth.
Don’t allow them to be seized for stupid stuff.
Search their book bags and their memories.
Redirect them from being a statistic.
Don’t give the cops “probable cause”, we’re too smart for that.
And they like to issue warrants so be aware.
Don’t relish in jeopardizing your freedom because you feel as though someone is infringing on your God given right of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
No let’s get to the bottom of it Brooklyn.
Let’s hold our heads high cuz we say no to cruel and unusual punishment.
No to excessive Bails and fines
And all my right are coming with me even if they weren’t all listed here.
Because I am me and I stand firm for all of us.
In Brooklyn we are constantly tempted with the lure of fast foods and deli meats.
The occasional taco stand never goes out of style in the Big Apple. But honestly, little dietary adjustments can affect our whole lives.
And on the topic of eating healthy we should concentrate on the small farms in the tri state area that offer GMO, antibiotic and steroid free groceries.
I came across a chicken farm belonging to the Imani Community Garden on Schenectady Ave and Bergen Street in Crown Heights. The chickens greeted me at the gate, seemingly beckoning me to enter.
The Imani Community Garden sells the eggs from their very own chickens and grows herbs seasonally for their members. Here, Lidia is holding a healthy chicken from the garden.
Recently, one Imani Garden representative, Salome Perry, registered the site as a co-op drop off location. So now you can enjoy the fresh herbs and groceries, not sold in stores. This garden can be found using the Farmigo.com website under Bed Heights Farm 2 U. All items from the farms on this website are locally grown to an impeccable healthy standard.
Happy Eating everyone and remember to keep it Fresh!
I’ve wanted to post this for a while. Only in Brooklyn can chicken be raised while basking in the city lights. Thank you for all the information Greg, Lydia and Salome. Also, buy some fresh groceries from Farmigo.com. The Imani garden has a special link too (click here), which is handled by Ms. Salome.
Please check out the goodies like fudge from upstate New York, chips from Long Island, and Hummus from Queens….all delicious!!
